Intern Programs

NABA-DC understands the importance of supporting the generations coming behind us. As such, our intern program has long been a focus of the organization.

Brown Bag Program

The NABA-DC Brown Bag Program is an opportunity for organizations across DC to connect with the NABA-DC intern class. The Brown Bag Committee coordinates with organizations working in Indian Country to host lunches where the interns are given the opportunity to meet those at the organization and learn more about the individuals and the organization. This is not only a great networking opportunity, but also a chance for interns to see the wide variety of employment options in the field.

The Brown Bag Program runs June to July, with all lunches taking place around lunch time on weekdays. Check back for more information on this year's Brown Bag Program.

Mentorship Program

The NABA-DC Mentorship Program pairs members of our summer intern class with practicing attorneys across the DC area working in Indian law and other areas impacting Indian country. The Mentorship Committee works to pair together interns and attorneys based on areas of interest to ensure the best match. This is a great opportunity for interns to learn about their field of interest in a more informal way and a chance for practicing attorneys to support the generation coming behind them.

While the Mentorship Program is a summer program, NABA-DC encourages these pairs to remain connected beyond the summer.
