Annual Summer NABA-DC Picnic @ Meridian Hill Park (Look for the red balloons!)

Annual Summer Picnic!  
When: Sunday, July 30th beginning at 10am
Where: Meridian Hill Park in the 16th Street NW and Euclid Street NW corner (look for the red balloons)
Who: NABA-DC members, interns, families, and the wider Indian law and policy community
What: BBQ potluck picnic

NABA-DC will be providing a BBQ-style main dish, water, plates, cups, napkins, and silverware.  We will also have games and blankets to sit on.  Please bring a dish or drink to share and anything else you think will make your picnic experience more comfortable.
If the weather is too hot or rainy, we will be moving our celebration indoors and will reach out with an updated location.

U.S. Supreme Court Swearing In

NABA-DC are excited to offer our members a group swearing in to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar on Tuesday October 10, 2017.

At this time all of the six (6) applicant spaces are now full. To be place on the waiting list please contact Rose Petoskey at rose.petoskey@gmail.com. Rose will contact those on the waiting list if spaces become vacant.

MEMBERS ONLY: Capital Segway Tours @ Behind the White House off Farragut Square

NABA-DC has organized a two-hour excursion around the city with Capital Segway Tours on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Capital Segway Tours are located just behind the White House off Farragut Square at 818 Connecticut Ave, NW and available by phone at (202) 682-1980. The tour will begin at 6:30pm with a mandatory safety training followed by a two-hour tour from 7-9pm. The cost to participate is $25 per person. Due to guide-to-riders restrictions imposed by the company, this is a members-only event with space limited to the first 16 people to RSVP.

2022 NABA-DC Holiday Party @ Fish & Richardson Law Firm

It’s almost time for the NABA-DC Annual Awards and Holiday Party!  This year we will be hosting an in-person event and we are looking forward to celebrating with all of you!

There is no cost to attend if you are a register member in good standing. Dues are $60.00 for Attorney Members and $30.00. for Non-Attorney Members. Student Members are free to join. You do not have to be a licensed attorney to join NABA-DC. Registration is https://nabadc.com/how-to-join/

Along with honoring this year’s Award nominees and winners, NABA-DC will also hold a silent auction to raise funds for the Marine Toys for Tots Native American Program. This holiday season, many families across Indian Country are struggling financially. A portion of the funds raised will also benefit NABA-DC’s 2022 annual programming. Each year, NABA-DC hosts programs and events that focus on strengthening our community and providing education on issues impacting Indian Country.

NABA-DC is seeking monetary sponsors for this year’s holiday party. This year the suggested contributions are Eagle ($2,500+) Platinum ($1,000-$2,499), Gold ($500+), Silver ($100+) and Turquoise (0-$100).  We hope that you will consider sponsoring the event at any level or amount. Is there someone in the DC Indian law and policy community that you think deserves recognition for his or her work this year?  If so, nominate them for a NABA-DC award!  The NABA-DC Board will determine winners and announce them at the Holiday Party.  Awards will be given in the following categories:

Lac Du Flambeau v. Coughlin Case Debrief
